M2 Light Tank

The M2 was the first pre-war modern tank for the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. Built by Rock Island Arsenal, the tank saw limited service in the opening days of the Pacific Campaign. Almost simultaneously, the M2 was also used by the British Army. The most-produced variant of the M2 was the M2A4, numbering 375 units in total. The M2 series was later developed into the M3/M5 Stuart, which saw more extensive use during the Pacific and North Africa campaigns.
